BCF Solutions, Inc. Appraised at CMMI Dev-Level 3 
Arlington, VA (December 10, 2013) – BCF announced today that it has been appraised at Level 3 of the CMMI Institute’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI). The appraisal was performed by Drew Allison of SysDevCo, Inc.CMMI is a process improvement approach that provides organizations with the essential elements of effective processes that ultimately improve their performance.An appraisal at maturity level 2 indicates the organization is performing at a “managed” level. At this level, projects have ensured that processes are planned and executed in accordance with policy; the projects employ skilled people who have adequate resources to produce controlled outputs; involve relevant stakeholders; are monitored, controlled, and reviewed; and are evaluated for adherence to their process descriptions.An appraisal at maturity level 3 indicates the organization is performing at a “defined” level. At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools, and methods. The organization’s set of standard processes, which is the basis for maturity level 3, is established and improved over time.CMMI is the result of more than 20 years of ongoing work at Carnegie Mellon University by members of industry, government, and the Software Engineering Institute. BCF Solutions: One of Washington’s Greatest 50 Places to Work 
Washington, DC (November 21, 2013) – BCF Solutions has been selected as one of the 50  Great Places to Work by The Washingtonian magazine. The December edition of the magazine is available in stores and online (Washingtonian December 2013) as of today. This is the eighth time the Washingtonian has chosen Great Places to Work in the Washington, DC area. The feature dates back to 1999 and is published every other year. BCF was an Honorable mention in both 2011 and 2009.Among The Washingtonian’s 50 winning workplaces, there are a mix of sizes (from an organization of 19 employees to one with more than 70,000), as well as industries (winners include government agencies, information-technology firms, government contractors, nonprofits, and more).

This year’s 50 winning workplaces were chosen on the basis of such measures as: generous pay and benefits, challenging and interesting work, great work/life balance, opportunities to learn and grow, financial stability, commitment to charity and community, and the recognition and respect given to employees. Winners were chosen after a panel of editors reviewed more than 200 companies and some 13,000 employee surveys. The final determinations relied heavily on the scores given by a company’s employees.Particularly highlighted for BCF was its management team and how they support their employees on a daily basis. In addition, the benefits BCF offers were noted to go above and beyond what was offered by companies of a similar size. Another differentiator is that despite being a Government contractor, BCF did not lay off a single employee amidst the sequestration, furloughs, and cutbacks that came to define the Government contracting industry in 2013.

BCF Founding Partner for PaxSpace 
Hollywood, MD (September 28, 2013) – BCF Solutions recently sponsored PaxSpace, Inc., a new MakerSpace located in Hollywood, Maryland. PaxSpace is a membership organization that provides the space, equipment, and community for members to learn new skills and pursue projects related to art and technology. PaxSpace will provide education and technical and scientific awareness to Southern Maryland to promote community innovation and technology development. Member projects will include electronics assembly, soldering, wood working, and computer programming. BCF to Present at DMC 2013 
Hollywood, MD (September 13, 2013) – BCF’s RedBlack Communications Division has been invited to present at the Defense Manufacturing Conference 2013 (DMC2013) on December 4th, 2013 in Kissimee, FL. The topic is “Li-CFx/MnO2 Hybrid Chemistry Batteries for Military Applications and Manufacturing Feasibility Study Results”.  This is a report to Industry on the Battery Network (BATTNET) Short Term Project (STP) performed by BCF  and their sub-contractor Ultralife Corporation.  The study evaluated the feasibility of producing hybrid batteries that rely on new chemistry and configuration on machinery that was originally designed for different chemistry and configuration.

BCF Engineers Chemistry Approach for Better Warfighter Battery
Hollywood, MD (August 23, 2013) – BCF’s RedBlack Communications Division recently completed its quarterly In Process Review (IPR) for the Battery Network (BATTNET) Short Term Project (STP). The goal of this STP is to address the manufacturing feasibility of Lithium Carbon Mono-Fluoride Manganese Dioxide (LiCFx-MnO2) batteries on existing Lithium Manganese Dioxide (LiMnO2) production equipment.  Working with its subcontractor, Ultralife Corporation, BCF validated the manufacturing approach and delivered 225 batteries and cells to the US Army CERDEC for acceptance testing and further evaluation. This new chemistry approach to the standard military BA-5390 battery footprint affords greater power capacity and a longer shelf life than current fielded batteries.The BATTNET Project is a partnership led by the Defense Logistics Agency and nine industry partnering firms. Its goal is to identify and evaluate industry improvements that will enhance the production and performance of critical battery-related components for the nation’s Warfighters.

BCF France wins Project Controls Support contract in Barcelona
Aix-en-Provence, FR (July 23, 2013) – BCF’s French subsidiary, BCF Solutions SARL, was awarded a Project Controls Support contract for Fusion For Energy (F4E) partnered with Tata Consultancy Services.  F4E is the European Domestic Agency for ITER, located in Barcelona. We are the first awardee in a cascade contract which gives us the first right of refusal for upcoming Task Orders. The contract has ceiling value of $7M € (~ $9.3M).

RedBlack Division Provides Critical Engineering and Technical Support to Navy Aircraft Generation Systems
Hollywood, MD (June 6, 2013) – On Tuesday, May 14, 2013, BCF Solutions, RedBlack Communications Division, working closely with the prime contractor, PC Krause and Associates of West Lafayette, Indiana, successfully completed a recent Critical Design Review (CDR) for the development and production of Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR) Module Dynamic Counter Testers (DCT) for Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR at Patuxent River, Maryland. The SCR DCT allows rapid and reliable testing of SCR modules used in US Navy aircraft’s generation systems. The SCR DCT will allow the fleet to significantly reduce costs related to current testing methods and equipment. BCF is providing mechanical, electrical, and systems engineering efforts to design the integrated system around circuitry and control logic developed by the PC Krause team. BCF is also providing logistics and analysis support for the development of program and technical documentation. Successful completion of CDR allows PCKA and BCF to begin fabricating and integrating initial demonstration and test articles of SCR DCT units.

EVM Division Supports Winning Team in NASA Effort
Huntsville, AL (March 29, 2013) – BCF Solutions, Inc. EVM Division was part of winning team of prime contarctor Quantech Services, Inc. for the Marshall Integrated Program Support Services (MIPSS) that will functionally support the NASA Programs at Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC) in Hunstville, AL. BCF is a critical subcontractor to providing support in Earned Value Management and Risk Management. This is a Blanket Purchase Agreement contract and gives us the opportunity to bid on task orders as a subcontractor in five areas: Program Planning & Control; Cost Estimating & Analysis; Configuration & Data Management; Project Coordination and Subject Matter Expert support. BCF Wins LOGWORLD Schedule
Arlington, VA (March 5, 2013) – BCF’s D&S Division led the company’s efforts to successfully acquisre a GSA Logistics Worldwide (LOGWORLD) Schedule. The LOGWORLD Multiple Award Schedule 874 V assists federal agencies in procuring comprehensive logistics solutions. Services include the following areas that permit the deployment of supplies, equipment, materials and associated personnel: planning, acquisition and management of logistics systems, and providing expert advice, assistance, guidance, management, and operational support services. BCF Wins Prime Chem Bio Award in Full & Open Competition
Arlington, VA (December 21, 2012) – Brady Foster, CEO, received notification that BCF was awarded a prime contract from the Joint Program Execuitve Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD) for Omnibus Professional Engineering and Technical Support (OPETS). This award is Full & Open in the Business and Analytical Domain. BCF will provide financial managment; managment, organizational & business improvement services (MOBIS); earned value managment (EVM); cost analysis; specialized analysis; and training services. The contract is valued at $495,000,000 and represents the first non small business IDIQ award for BCF.

BCF Acquires RedBlack Communications
Hollywood, MD (October 12, 2012) – BCF Solutions, Inc. (BCF) is pleased to announce our latest move to strategically improve the Corporation’s posture with the acquisition of RedBlack Communications, an established communications and electronics systems integrator. This expansion of our business base and increased capabilities results in a much stronger and more marketable Corporation. We deem this acquisition as key to the continued growth of the company.

RedBlack provides engineering design, fabrication, installation, and test services for various fixed and mobile C4ISR applications. They currently have 30 employees that execute engineering and technical services, program management, and rapid prototyping that add $5.25M to the BCF annual revenue. RedBlack gives BCF a major footprint with the US Navy Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), Special Communications Requirements Division (SCRD) at Webster Field and Patuxent Naval Air Station in Maryland. GSA Awards BCF PES Schedule
Arlington, VA (August 20, 2012) – BCF was recently awarded a Professional Engineering Services (PES) Schedule from the General Services Administration (GSA). 2 Divisions Post Wins
Arlington, VA (September 24, 2012) – In less than 48 hours two separate BCF Divisions have been awarded contracts to new customers. The PMA Division will provide financial training services to the West Virginia Army National Guard located outside of CHarleston, WV. Work on this efforts starts immediately. Also, the Defense and Space Division won the contract that will provide the Joint Staff Support Services Office with Defense Travel Systems (DTS) support for the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

BCF Becomes ARCHIBUS Business Partner
Arlington, VA (April 24, 2012) – BCF Solutions is now a Business Partnership with ARCHIBUS, Inc., the provider of the world’s premiere facility management software. ARCHIBUS, Inc. distributes and supports ARCHIBUS in over 100 countries through a network of over 1,600 authorized resellers and application specialists who are the foundation of the ARCHIBUS Business Partners program. BCF Solutions has joined this distinguished team as an application specialist. ARCHIBUS is designed to support organizations with their real estate, facilities, and infrastructure management efforts. BCF supported the selection of ARCHIBUS for MDA. Our team of software engineers including John Delozier, Sergio Vallejo, and Stephen Crass implemented and continue to customize the program for MDA’s needs. In the joint areas of software and related services, ARCHIBUS, in conjunction with its Business Partners, develops and implements applications that facilitate the management of projects, owned and leased properties, telecommunications and cable network infrastructure, as well as office and building space, furniture, and equipment. Other functions of its software include capital budgeting, buildings operation management, and emergency preparedness. Through this network, ARCHIBUS users (our clients) gain more control over their implementations, flexibility and choice in customization, and access to other products that can be integrated with the ARCHIBUS engine. EVM Division to Support NASA
Huntsville, AL (February 9, 2012) – BCF Solutions, Inc. EVM Division was part of the down select for the Marshall Integrated Program Support Services (MIPSS) that will functionally support the NASA Programs at Marshall Space Flight Center in Hunstville, AL. BCF is a critical subcontractor to Quantech Services, Inc. providing support in Earned Value Management and Risk Management. BCF Listed in Washingtonian’s “Best Places to Work”
WASHINGTON, DC (October 20, 2011) – BCF Solutions, Inc. was listed as one of twelve honorable mentions in the 2011 “Best Places to Work” featured once every two years. BCF received the same honor in 2009. The article stated, “Employees at this midsize government and commercial contractor praise the caring managers. When a project required working late for a week and a half, a manager brought dinner nightly. Triad Division Wins Framework Contract at Argonne Labs
CHICAGO, IL (April 18, 2011) – Division Director Spencer Curtis announced BCF was selected as a Framework contractor to provide project controls for up to 5 years at Argonne National Laboratory in Chicago. Triad Division is now part of three Framework contracts. In addition to the work at Argonne, we also provide support at Brookhaven National Lab and for the ITER project in France. “We still have to win the Task Orders, but we’ve typically been good at finding a way to win our fair share of those,” says Mr. Curtis. This effort will immediately require positions to be filled within the division, all representing new work.

BCF Wins Facility Management Task Order
HUNTSVILLE, AL (March 11, 2011) – CEO Brady Foster announced today that notification arrived yesterday evening of CSC’s win, where BCF is a critical subcontractor, for the Missile Defense Agency’s Directorate of Logistics Task Order for Facility Management and Lifecycle Logistics. Per our agreement with CSC, the BCF share of this effort will be worth approximately $6.4 million annually. The Task Order is for a one year base period with an option for an additional year (the ID/IQ contract is a five year vehicle). This award is the culmination of hard work by Mr. Foster, supporting this functional organization for many years and steadily growing the BCF presence from just a few personnel to a group of almost 50 people. Our team worked very hard to make this particular TO a winner for CSC. Congratulations to the entire D&S Team!

BCF Joins in ID/IQ Win, Again
WASHINGTON, DC (March 10, 2011) The Department of Defense announced the Missile Defense Agency is awarding indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contracts for advisory and assistance services to five different small businesses including DCS Corp in Alexandria, VA for the MiDAESS Group 3 Small Business Set Aside. BCF will perform as a critical subcontractor to DCS on future competitve, individual Task Orders. Our support will assist DCS in providing engineering, technical analysis and support, scientific, systems engineering, test planning, and test execution activities in support of the Ballistic Missile Defense System. Each contract has a not to exceed ordering ceiling of $861,100,000 with a maximum performance period through March 2016. The work locations are Huntsville, AL; Colorado Springs, CO; and Arlington, VA.

BCF Wins Project Framework contract with Brookhaven National Lab
RIDGE, NY (January 28, 2011) – Triad Division Director Spencer Curtis announced today BCF was awarded a Lab-wide Project Controls Framework contract at the Department of Energy’s Brookhaven National Laboratory for project control services. The purpose of this is to provide a quick turnaround for project controls support for projects varying from weeks to months. BCF teamed with a small business contractor – Prime Project Management – to win this 1 year plus 3 option years Framework contract. Brookhaven has been a BCF customer and we look forward to expanding our support there.

BCF Continues Growth as Sub to CSC
ARLINGTON, VA (January 24, 2011) – BCF continues its success in 2011 with new positions won as a subcontractor to CSC on new Missile Defense Agency MiDAESS contracts. We received news from CSC over what proved to be an exciting weekend. BCF contributed to the efforts on the Integration Synchronization Center Task Order. BCF Brings Over 100 Jobs to Northern Alabama
HUNTSVILLE, AL (December 18, 2010) – With the success of three Task Orders in as many weeks, BCF Solutions, Inc. Defense & Space Division drastically expands its footprint in the Huntsville, AL region. This was a bright spot in an area that had seen hundreds of NASA positions eliminated in the last few months. BCF Wins Largest Award Ever with MiDAESS Acquisition and Program Management Support Task Order
HUNTSVILLE, AL (December 10, 2010) – BCF Solutions, Inc. Defense & Space Division announced it was awarded the Acquisition and Program Management Support Task Order from the Missile Defense Agency’s Directorate of Acquisition. The task order, worth approximately $14.5 million per year, calls for BCF to provide acquisition and program management support for BMDS leadership. BCF will provide analysis and assessments of data, policy, directives, guidance, instructions; as well as, acquisition and program management advice and recommendations, based on applicable industry practices and aforementioned analysis. This effort will also support preparation of related acquisition and program management documentation in the performance of this task. BCF will support the Director for Acquisition in its mission to advise the Director, Missile Defense Agency on all issues relating to acquisition, contracting, and small business.

Under this task order, BCF and its team members: AASI, CSC, DMD, Gray Research and SAIC will support efforts for the Acquisition Directorate across all MDA Elements in the National Capitol Region; Huntsville, AL; Dahlgren, VA; Bedford, MA; and Albuquerque, NM.
The task order has a one-year base and one option year, and represents new work for BCF.

BCF EVM Division Wins MiDAESS Task Order
HUNTSVILLE, AL (December 2, 2010) – BCF Solutions, Inc. EVM Division secured the Earned Value Management Task Order from the Missile Defense Agency’s Directorate of Budget. The task order, worth over $2 million per year, calls for BCF to support functional and program leadership, including the following: reviewing processes; implementing EVM policy across the Agency; updating directives, handbooks, and/or memorandums, and providing earned value management support.
Under this task order, BCF and its team member, CSC , will provide MDA oversight for the earned value process in the National Capitol Region; Huntsville, AL; Colorado Springs, CO; and Albuquerque, NM.
The task order has a one-year base and one option year, and represents new work for BCF. Congratulations to Director Bob Wasser, MDA EVM Lead Peter Upton, and the entire Division for their hard work.

MiDAESS Cost Estimating and Analysis Task Order Win
HUNTSVILLE, AL (December 1, 2010) – BCF Solutions, Inc Defense & Space Division announced this morning it has been awarded the Missile Defense Agency Directorate of Budget (MDA/DOB) Cost Estimating and Analysis Task Order. The contract which has a base year period and a one year option is valued at over $7.1 million per year with 45 positions in Huntsville, AL; Dahlgren, VA; Albuquerque, NM; and Los Angeles Air Force Base, CA.

BCF will provide cost-based decision analyses for MDA’s strategic goals. We will support the collection and management of cost data, technical baseline data, cost research and analysis, and coordination (both internal and external to the agency) in this process. Our cost estimating and analysis will also provide assistance in building quality budget submissions.

BCF partnered with CSC and MCR on this effort and their assistance was invaluable to the success of this award.

This is one of the largest wins in company history and is the result of a dedicated effort by everyone from Executive Management through the entire Division.

BCF Wins First MiDAESS Task Order

BCF Wins $601.8 Million MiDAESS Indefinite-Delivery/Indefinite-Quantity Contract Award
ARLINGTON, VA (July 21, 2010) – BCF is being awarded the ID/IQ contract to provide advisory and assistance services to the Acquisition Functional Capability Group Small Business. BCF will assist with acquisition support services for the Ballistic Missile Defense System through July 2015.
